The John Paul II Centre was the dream of Archbishop Charles Halpin (Archbishop from 1973 to 1994) as the Archdiocesan educational centre for growth and renewal.

The John Paul II Centre is housed in the former monastery of the Sisters of the Precious Blood. From their home nearby, they continue to pray for and support the ministry of the Centre.

Since its founding on September 3, 1985, the John Paul II Centre has been served by a number of dedicated directors:

  • Very Reverend Tonny Dizy (1985 - 1988)
  • Sister Bernadette Getz, SCSL (1988 - 1994)
  • Agnes Fuchs (fall, 1994)
  • Mariette Martineau & Dean Woodbeck (1995 - 1997)
  • Sister Michelle Blanchette, pm (1997 - 2001)
  • Sister Elaine Arsenault (2001 - present)
