Exploring Scripture Series
Women in Scripture

Thursday,
March 4 (7:30 - 9:30 pm)

Women in Scripture will be a time for us to think about how we know, and what we know, about specific women in our Christian scripture.

For example, we will talk about the historic changes in how Mother Mary and Mary Magdalene have been portrayed by our churches and theologians.

Some time will also be devoted to the larger question of women in other scriptures, such as the Qur’an and the Hebrew Scriptures. Larger questions of interpretation, social context, and social ordering will be raised.

Facilitated by Brenda Anderson

Brenda teaches courses on women and religion at Luther College, University of Regina.
