Medieval Mystics and Muses

Wednesday, October 22 (7:30 - 9:30 pm)

Take a trip to medieval Christian times, to hear the words, music and prayers of women such as Hildegard of Bingen, Julian of Norwich, Marguerite Porete and others. What was it like to be a woman following the spiritual path of the Church - in convents, in seclusion, and as a lay woman? Did they see themselves as resisting the status quo, or did their lives reflect the teachings of their times? How are their teachings being understood today in the Church?

Facilitated by Brenda Anderson
