Director's Letter

August 5, 2004

Dear Friends of the John Paul 11 Centre:

The summer is gradually taking its course and soon we’ll be sharing memories of the interesting experiences we encountered and count the numerous blessings received along the way.

It’s always a pleasure to welcome and thank you for your continuous support of the activities at the John Paul II Centre. We are anticipating a year filled with new projects, new programs, and hopefully another successful and fruitful year for the Lay Ministry Program. On behalf of the director and staff, a special welcome to the first year candidates, a happy return to years two and three, and a spirit-filled year to the dynamic and fantastic team of leaders. At this time, I ask the pastors to encourage members of their faith community to enrol in this spiritual, self-nurturing, faith deepening journey of life.

This coming year we are looking forward to celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the John Paul II Centre. We would like to celebrate in a great way, so keep watching for up coming events that will underline its successes over the years.

On Saturday, September 11, 2004, you are reminded to attend the Fall Festival Fundraiser Day of activities at the John Paul II Centre from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.. We hope this will be a community effort to help in realizing some projects that will enhance the facility and enable us to provide a better environment in fostering our spiritual growth. At the Festival, we will also be selling a Christmas art card of the nativity painted by Heather Collins.

Next year, we will be having the Archbishop Halpin Memorial Event on April 16, 2005. The guest speaker will be Archbishop James Weisgerber from Winnipeg. Please mark this date on your calendar.

Holy Spirit, inspire our people to renew the face of the earth.
