From the Centre

Saturday, October 16 (9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.)

This one day workshop includes slide lectures, hands on watercolour painting and discussions.

The session will begin with a slide showing of 20th century artists whose abstract paintings systematically attempted to convey emotion and feeling outside of direct representation. The written work of Wassily Kandinsky, On the Spiritual Art, will provide a springboard for this watercolour workshop.

There will be an introduction to elementary watercolour techniques with a focus on improvisation. No previous art experience necessary.

This workshop is excellent for those needing to reaffirm or sustain a sense of authenticity of true self within their own art; wanting to have fun and learn exercises that are important in maintaining emotion centeredness; willing to be open to the idea of breaking conventions with their art.
