Religion and Film

In just over one hundred years, film has travelled around the world, creating a truly global phenomenon.

This session will focus on representations of religion in world cinema. Through a variety of film examples, participants will explore together how religious practices, myths, and symbols are depicted in film and how they work to create meaning and identity.

Sheila is Professor of Media Studies at the University of Regina.
