October 4 (7:30 - 9:30 p.m.) This session will examine the different views of Christian thinkers regarding the appropriate relation between Christian faith and philosophical reason. St. Thomas Aquinas in the 13th Century provides a synthesis of the Christian thought of Augustine with the classical philosophers Plato and Aristotle and describes the appropriate domains of faith and philosophy - reason is able to establish that God exists and faith based on Gods revelation in scripture and tradition show who God is. Come out and explore more of this fascinating phenomenon! Facilitated by Dr. Arthur Krentz Arthur has been a professor of Philosophy at Luther College, University of Regina for thirty-three years. He has served as Academic Dean of the College for eleven years and has taught a wide range of courses on campus. Cost: $10 |
