Evening for Women
The Orphan Heart
Tuesday, May 2, May 9, May 16 [7:00-9:00 pm]
The volcano of goodbyes
the weepy room in the chest cavity...
the gradual dawning of new life
For those who have left the
religious tradition of their birth, the journey back into spirituality
can be fraught with unexplored and unexploded emotions;
anger, sadness, longing and relief
how do we make our way?
How do we both gather up the gifts of the past and then travel
well into a new place? This course will allow ample room
for sharing stories, for creating healing and celebration rituals,
and for moving on. (Feel free to invite your family members or friends
who have left their religious traditions to attend these three evenings)
Facilitator: DAWN ROLKE is a United Church minister, who has worked

opened her to life in ways she couldnt have imagined.

Body,
Temple of the Soul
Wednesday, May 17 [9:30-11:30am]
The body is the temple of the Soul, yet we tend to ignore it and
in some cases even dislike it! Doesnt your body deserve to
be serviced every day to keep it in good condition?
This is a practical workshop on balancing the bodys energies
to keep you healthy. Each person will have hands on
practice of working on themselves and will be given detailed hand
outs on each exercise that is covered.

Using
Spirituality to Begin Again, Alone
Thursday, May 18 [7:00-9:00 pm]
We often, regardless of age, find ourselves starting over on our
own because of divorce, separation, death of a loved one, children
leaving home, or leaving home to further education. This is an evening
of reflection of how spirituality can ease us into the change.
FACILITATOR: LORRAINE NICHOL, a graduate from the Lay Ministry Program
and presently a student in the Pastoral Studies Program at the U
of R. She is a divorced mother of four adult children.

Did
Jezebel Just Get Bad Press? (A Look at Women in the Bible)
Monday, May 29 [1:00-4:00 pm]
Although mostly disregarded and marginalized in their respective
patriarchal societies, the women of the Hebrew and Christian scriptures
do have a voice. If listened to, they are powerful role
models who can enrich our insight and challenge our preconceptions.
They will encourage us in our own faith journeys. This session will
feature presentation, dialogue, reflection and a touch of creativity.
FACILITATOR: JOAN GALVIN is a retired teacher and long-time presenter
on scripture and church history in the Lay Ministry Formation Program
of the Regina archdiocese. A member of the diocesan Ecumenical Commission,
she is active in ecumenical and inter-faith dialogue and
co-operation in Regina.
